KittyLove
I went to Goodwill today and found what looks like a countertop machine. Coin operated. It says on the front mini computer 2 and it plays a game that is like breakout. It is green and orange with a red, orange, and yellow stripe going through it, no decals or anything else that would help me find any information about this game. It came with coins that have japanese writing on it. Please give me any info you might have...Can you buy kits to make these things? Maybe thats what it is. Saikyo
Is the game one of these? http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter...=G&game_id=7927 The page starts on Gee Bee and has links to Bomb Bee and Cutie Q they look similar to your description of the game. The cabinet however I suppose could either be a conversion or bootleg. I suppose these are not the game you saw but if it's not ill have another look around. KittyLove
The bomb Bee looks a little more like the game but the game that I got looks a lot less complicated. It has what I guess you would call the paddle that goes left and right and the blocks at the opposite end. The stripes and colors looked about the same. Maybe it is just a game that someone created. After all, it was just ten dollars. I will put up a picture of it once I start to feel I better. I just got my wisdom teeth taken out. Thanks a lot for the help!!!! Ralph3
I just got my wisdom teeth taken out. I slept for 2 1/2 days when I had my 4 wisdom teeth pulled out at once. After that it wasn't too bad. Get well soon.
KittyLove
Thank you, I am feeling better. Pain pills are awesome... Anyways, I still have not figured out what this friggen thing is. I don't know if it is something that someone made or not. I will be putting up a picture when I go back to college. I am going to school all summer but this is my week break and I left my camera back in my dorm room. Is there any way you can look at a cabenet and tell if they were hand made? It looks as if its from the 70s so I can't tell. I guess if it came from a manufacturer it would say, wouldn't it???hmmm...
Brian D. Deuel
Sounds like one of the many Japanese Breakout clones/bootlegs. For $10, I'd jump on it. And if you don't want it, I'll buy it from you
KittyLove
naw, I think I want it, only because it is my first coin op machine. Thanks for the offer and thanks for the help. If I ever do decide to sell it I will think of you first.
Brian D. Deuel
Please make sure you take some pics of it, so we historians can figure out exactly what it is
KittyLove
I know, I forgot to take my camera home over the weekend and holliday. I will not forget again....
+RichG1972
I may not know what the machine is that you have but I, like yourself have recently come into my first coin-op machine as well. Mine is a 1982 ATARI Pole Position, only mine still needs a lot of work before it'll even be playable, I bought it as a cannibalized cab that most of the things were gone from, but little by little I am getting the neccessary parts needed to fully restore it and many of the parts are new and in some cases New Old Stock, but KittyLove I can definitely say that owning a first coin-op is definitely something special. I know it is for me since back in 1985 when I was 12 and Pole Position was a mere 3 years old, a Pole Position machine helped me break a high fever of 103.5 which if it got any higher I could have died from, and now almost 20 years later I am repaying a debt to the Pole Position by saving the life of this one like it had saved mine all thoise years ago. I am glad I have embarked on the coin-op adventure and so should you be. RichG1972 Oh and as an afterthought I not only restore coin-ops, but also classic video game systems such as the Atari 2600, in fact here is a thread here on AtariAge about the very thing: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...3823&highlight= KityLove have a look at my restoration pics of the 6 switch 2600 console and let me know what you think in this thread, ok? KittyLove
Yeah, 103.5 is really high. It's really exciting when you find your first one. I freaked out because it only cost me ten bucks, I don't know if it's worth that but it works. I have not posted a pic because I have not gone home yet because of my workstudy job. I will be going home on friday. I plan on collecting more coin op machines when I get a place of my own but for now I will stick with what I got, unless it's only ten bucks. I understand how video games can heal you. For me, they help me forget about the things that are bothering me. Thanks for the reply
KittyLove
Ps. those restore pics are cool, I bet it is a lot of fun. I've thought about getting into that kinda thing, but the most i have ever done is take my regular nintendo apart and clean it and replace the pins. Is that your hobby? vintagegamer89
That thing looks pretty awesome! and for $10, and at the Goodwill?? The only video game related stuff I've ever found there are 2600 E.T. carts and computer joysticks missing half the pins...Excellent find! KittyLove
Thank you, when I first saw it I was for sure that the price was a mistake. It's the only thing I have ever found in a thrift store that has anything to do with coin op machines, but I don't know crap about it. wrenchien
would that be a tulsa or oklahoma city goodwill you found that at?

Cassidy Nolen
If you get a chance, I would love to see a picture of the electronics inside of it. It appears very similar to something I have seen before. Also interested by how the controls work. 10 bucks, man. Some folks get all the luck. wrenchien
oklahoma city, huh? that's where you found the game? i wonder if i ever played something like that in my youth.. maybe super breakout, anyway. well.. let's say i've had an interest in going to oklahoma city for a lot of my life... cause it's one of the few states i've not been in during my travels.. it'd be about the 9th state i've gone to in my life.. the rest were texas, louisiana, alabama, mississippi, arkansas, georgia, florida and tennessee... and i'd be a lot closer to going to most of america in my life. i hope if i ever go to okc my finds will be intriguing. KittyLove
the white and red buttons on the left are for 1 or 2 players. To the right of that is the key whole, to the right of that is the serve button (the red one), and to the right of that is the switch incase you want to use the controller which is what is on the top(left). Below those buttons to the right is a nob which controls the paddel. You turn it left and right to make the paddle go left and right. On the controller it has a red serve button and a nob. I forgot to add that the screen is in black and white and what gives it color is the striped sticker that is on the screen which makes me think that the machine is older than I am. I will take pictures and try to post them tonight after class. Thanks...
