AncillaryDrone
Am I the only one with a Commodore PET? Actually I have two, and a big box full of cassettes with wonderful, wonderful PET games (they're all ASCII char-based).
Malc74
Brought my 4 Sinclair Spectrums with me when I emigrated from Scotland, 2x 48k, 1x 128k+2 and 1x 128k+2a. Picked up a whole bunch of Commodore stuff a couple of weeks ago including 2x VIC 20, 4x C64 and 4x C64c (although one C64 and one C64c give the black screen of death when turned on, but they can be used for spares I suppose). I'd love to increase my home computer collection but I haven't seen a single machine in any thrift store since I arrived over here. My most wanted would be a Timex Sinclair 2068 (the North American version of the Spectrum). Maybe the thrift Gods will smile on me when I'm down in Toronto next week! Tsukasa
What's the difference between a commodore 64 and a and a commodore 64c?
Malc74
What's the difference between a commodore 64 and a and a commodore 64c? Not much, except that the C64c looks much, much nicer. Although I've heard it said that some strange people prefer the beige breadbin look of the original C64.
Rekrul
I own a C64 (also have a spare one someone gave me), a couple Amiga 500's and a couple Amiga 2000's. (although one C64 and one C64c give the black screen of death when turned on, but they can be used for spares I suppose). Check the fuses. I blew the fuse on mine once and just got a black screen when I turned it on. Not much, except that the C64c looks much, much nicer. Although I've heard it said that some strange people prefer the beige breadbin look of the original C64. I've read that there's also a minor difference in the SID chip, so that some games sound a little different, or the timing is off.
SteveW
I bought a Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer 2 today, so I have one more computer to fool around with!
Rockin' Kat
speaking of getting more computers, what I'd really like to be the next computer I get is an Amiga 2500.
Trooper
As far as I can remember the C64 has the 6581SID while the C64C was "upgraded" with the 8580SID so this means that stuff don't always sound the same on the C64C as on the C64. And yes.....I'm one of the weirdos that prefer the breadbin /Troop
Famicoman
I only have a C64. I'll get another computer after I hunt down some cassettes, and a disk drive or two.

And do you keep them running, or just as giant decorations? All I have that's really "classic" is a C64, a C64C, and a Morrow Micro Decision CP/M. eric_ruck
Am I the only one with a Commodore PET? Actually I have two, and a big box full of cassettes with wonderful, wonderful PET games (they're all ASCII char-based). Funny thing about PET...I rescued one from a dumpster when I was a freshman at college in the late 80's. I traded it for a half gallon jug of vodka a week later. Classic computers: Atari 400 that I've owned since 1982 Atari 800XL Atari 1200XL Atari 1400XL (yes, working, with lab proto software for the modem) Atari 1040ST Atari Portfolio Commodore 64 Timex Sinclair 1000 I think I have a broken Tandy 100 somewhere. Does the Pentium 233 laptop count? Eric
mrgameandwatch
Commodore 64 (Just the main unit >< ) An Atari Portfolio Laptop that is very lousy in condition >< The neat thing about my Commodore 64 is I rescued it from our maze of mini-storage we got. SteveW
A store near me has a boxed Commodore Plus/4 for sale for about $40. I'm debating whether to buy it. I've heard that over time, they become more prone to failure. I don't want to cough up my hard earned cash for a dead machine. Worse, a dead machine that has virtually no software available for it, even if it did work.
