LoTonah
Hi all, I'm at my wits end here. I'm typing in a Compute! program that requires a {left} keystroke. According to Compute!, the keystroke is generated by pressing ESC, CTRL and + at the same time. How do I do that under the emulator? It's helpfile says that CTRL and left-arrow is the same as CTRL and +, but it doesn't do anything. I've tried CTRL and + (the one on the numeric keypad) and it just prints a +. I've tried CTRL and + (the one above the = sign on my IBM kybd) and it just sees the = sign and does a down-arrow. I've tried hitting shift at the same time, and it does nothing. I know it sounds like a noob post, but I'm stumped and would appreciate the help. Thanks!
Cybernoid
Try typing ESC, CTRL-(Left Arrow). That is, ignore the += key and use the arrow keys on the PC. Make sure you have the joysticks turned off via the 'Input->Joysticks' menu. I hope that this helps... ~C
LoTonah
Thanks! I didn't realize that the joysticks were gumming things up. I'm feeling kinda dumb now
Cybernoid
Don't feel dumb. I am always trying to do something in the emulator and forget that I have the joysticks set to arrow keys or to numpad. Not to mention that my laptop has num lock that will lock half the keyboard into a numpad.... grrr....
