Jack-Ass Tramiel
Don't know if this has been discussed already, but how close is Christian's version of Ewok Adventure that he did for his VCS simulator to the actual game? J-AT
Scott Stilphen
Graphics-wise, it's *really* close. Characters in the real game have more animation to them, and the control in Christian's is much easier. One thing I noticed with the real one is that you can fly the glider into the bunker on the (1st 2 levels) to destroy it, instead of having to possess either a speeder bike or walker. Jack-Ass Tramiel
This is quite enlightening then. It makes me wonder how accurately other lost games can be recreated, depending upon the amount of information gathered (like Lord of the Rings). Scott Stilphen
In the case of Ewok, Christian benefitted from the fact that there was a detailed review of it in 2600C #37.
khryssun
exact scott, I used the following informations to create the game : http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Lair/.../9260/ewok.html. It's not in my habit to make self-congrats, but... this time I can say : I made a good job.
Scott Stilphen
Absolutely. It's so close, it made me think you had played the original! Great job, Chris!
Jack-Ass Tramiel
Well this makes me wonder: How many other lost games are there that have been reviewed in enough detail, and which there are screenshots of, which could be recreated, too? khryssun
Thanks scott Jack, just after I finished ewoks, I though to port Pink Panther to the VCS simulator. I was in touch with a guy who had a Pink Panther game session recorded on a video tape. Unfortunatly the tape was in a NTSC format and I can read only VHS tapes on my video reader/recorder... so I closed the project. I don't remember who was this guy... maybe it was Tim Duarte... i can't remember.

NTSC is a TV format VHS is a videotape format They work fine together. Did you mean you can only read PAL or SECAM, or can only use Beta videotapes? I can't remember the cause, but there was an incompatibility problem. Maybe it was betacam. I wondering if someone else has got this film ? it will be possible to convert it to mpg2 format.
