Yep, they killed that one off pretty quickly. We were careful not to use the name of the game in the auction and we didn't describe it as an adult game. Either eBay was searching for "PlayAround" or someone reported the auction and they shut it down. Pretty sad, but what can you do. We'll figure out another way to auction that particular title.

We didn't use the name of the game in the auction title, just something along the lines of "Atari 2600 PlayAround Double Ender". However, the auction description did have the name's title as well as a description of PlayAround being an adult videogame company (we just used the descripotion of PlayAround from our database). We were already warned that adult videogame auctions were being canceled, so it's not really too surprising. Still, it is disappointing.

I can see how someone ignorant of the 2600's graphics capabilities (which is probably most people) would see this as an adult game that could be offensive to some. And of course we need to "protect the children". However, given the extreme ease with which porn can be found on the net, it's really sad that eBay has to censor auctions like this. And as you demonstrated, they don't even do a very good job of catching all adult oriented auctions.

And complaining will do no good, you'll just get a form letter back. Ebay could care less, out of the million auctions they have running at any given time these represent only a miniscule fraction of their revenue.
