Spector
The Cuttle Cart comes to the UK via my house, and it's brilliant. Where do you start with all the games that the 2600 had? And I suppose that's my question: what game should I download that's not so well known. Everyone's aware of Adventure, Space Invaders etc, but what game that isn't talked about much should I download? Any suggestion?
Spector
I like shoot em up's, I suppose, but most genres are fine by me. I know I can download them all, I already have, but I don't want to load them up for five seconds, then switch the 2600 off, and then load another up. That's not the right way to get into games, as you miss out on a lot of good ones that way. I want to do it slowly, so name any relatively unknown classic and I'll take it. The Night Phantom
I'm not sure how obscure these are (AtariAge rates their rarity at 4), but here are some of the favorites in my collection: Beany Bopper Entombed Gopher Of the three, only Beany Bopper involves shooting. Hope you find something you like!
Lemmi
Beany Bopper is a cool game and has a nice red label
NE146
Heck 2600 games are so small... get them ALL. I (and I'm sure most people) easily have 1300+ games on my hardrive including PAL, hacks, homebrews, etc. And I don't even think it's complete. If zipped all together, it probably wouldn't go over a paltry 4 or 5 megs. Speaking of which, since my computer is close by to my VCS, it's convenient for me to load up the .bin's directly to the cuttlecart using the PLAYBIN.EXE. But I'm sure not everyone's 2600 has as convenient an access. So in that light, has anyone out there yet done the tedious task of converting each .bin to a sound file for play on a cd or other audio source?
