Tempest
I just heard on TV that they're planning to make a musical out The Last Starfighter. All I cna say is HUH? Why TLSF? How would one even go about making a musical out of it? Who would it appeal to? I'm looking for more information on this, because it's just too weird to be true. Vic George 2K3
Definitely weird. Not sure how they'd make it work, since nothing in the movie itself really suggests a musical.
christianscott27
http://www.playbill.com/news/article/88513.html yikes! unless its some kind of broadway in-joke they really are making it a musical, starting next month! i'd like to see how they manage the space fighter combat scenes set wise. SteveW
Words fail me. My mind can't conjure up what this is going to look like on stage. I hope to God that someone brings their camcorder with them and posts this online, for those of us who don't live in New York City. There's very little possibility of this coming to Dallas. Or maybe it'll end up being like Cats, running forever and going on the road. Who knows?
RJ
Robert Preston (played "Centauri") was The Music Man in the movie version. I watched this yesterday morning on HBO Family. I dont recall it being so corny, especially when Preston said "interstellar hit beast." I didnt even make it through the last half-hour. liveinabin
I love the movie, yeah it's cheesy, but in a really nice way I'd love to see how they're going to interpret 'Death Blossom' via the medium of dance!
