Brad2600
Ok, I've never used an 8-bit emulator before and I just realized that I downloaded this program and never installed it. I decided to see if I could open several files that are ATR files. I even messed around with the configuration so that this program is checked to be associated with this type of file. However, what is it? How do I open it? I have downloaded 3 of these ATR files: 2 are from Analmux's SMB 8-bit project that he posted in that thread. Another ATR image is of the SMB clone, Bros. Afterwards, can anyone point me to a good ROM archive for the 800XL?
Nukey Shay
Alt-d, select .atr file (which is a disk image), then hit shift-f5 to reboot the emulator.
Brad2600
I do what you suggest and still, I keep getting a screen talking about a ROM error over and over again.
Ringthane
Different problem with AWin800+... I installed this a few months ago, and while muckin' about with the config, I set the screen size to an incorrect setting. Now, when I load up the program, I get a message saying "Signal Out of Range". Is there a way to reset the system to its default setting again? Nukey Shay
Erase the .GID file @Kepone What exactly is the error message?
Shawn Jefferson
I do what you suggest and still, I keep getting a screen talking about a ROM error over and over again. You need the OS ROM to use the emulator. It isn't distributed with the emulator. Without the OS ROM (there are versions for OS-B (400/800), XL (800XL, 1200XL, etc...) and 5200. Also you may be interested in a BASIC ROM, but it isn't required by most programs. Search for Atari800Win roms in google. They aren't hard to find. Nukey Shay
Oh...if it's just the system roms, you can get those here... ftp://matrix.ibb.waw.pl/pub/a8/Emulators/.../atari_roms.zip And check out one of the other threads for lists of places to get images...like this one: http://atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=57485
Brad2600
@Kepone What exactly is the error message? "A ROM load error prevented Atari800WinPlus from booting. You should check the settings under 'Atari/ROM images' menu. Would you like to view these settings now?" This is the error message I get. Zybex
Download this file : ftp://matrix.ibb.waw.pl/pub/a8/Emulators/.../atari_roms.zip Extract this file to a folder. Start the emulator, press ok in the error screen, the click on search button and pick the folder for the romset. (this are the atari romset not games) ATR, DCM formats, are disk images XEX,COM, EXE binary files to load any file, simply drag and drop the file into the emulator. f2 = option / f3 = select / f4 = start Set your joystick with alt+j and the video (ntsc/pal) with alt+v. Sorry, my english sux.
