atarigamer
I am buying another Atari 2600. But someone told me that Space Shuttle plays best with a 6-switch. First of all, is Space Shuttle a good game, and is it worth getting a 6-switch?
StanJr
You should get a six switch regardless of Space Shuttle. They are just cool to have. But people prefer a six switch for Space Shuttle because you have to use all of the switches (difficulty switches,B/W, etc) and having them all on the front of the machine makes it much easier. You can play Space Shuttle on any machine, but a six switch means you don't have to reach the additional 5 inches. If you like Space sims, Space Shuttle is pretty cool, but its complex and you will need the manual and overlays to get the most out of it. (trust me, I'm still trying to get a hold of a copy) Space Stan
Nukey Shay
Posted the controls a way back... http://www.atariage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb...c&f=16&t=000464 F1=select (game #) F2=start F3/F4=color/b&w (main engines on/off) F5/F6=l.diff. (MET start/stop) F7/F8=r.diff. (doors/gear closed/open) Moving while main engines are off will allow you to correct the X (speed, up/down), Y (tilt, left/right), and Z (depth, up/down w/button) axis. When on, you can adjust the pitch and yaw...as well as fire them to make major speed adjustments. Every move you make will cost fuel (including life-support), and tapping the stick repeatedly (instead of holding) will consume less fuel. Warning klaxons will consume fuel at a faster pace when sounded as well, so try to stay on course! StanJr
oops. I meant I was looking for a hard copy of the manual to hold in my grubby little hands as I try to play this super-hard game. Your controls are super-handy too. Thanks Nukey!
