maibock
So I'm watching VH1 classics(the one that actually shows videos) while feeding my one month old. A Sheena Easton video comes on and I frantically search for the remote. Being pinned down with the baby, the search becomes fruitless as the screaching sound of her voice wains. So I'm half watching and notice a Defender Cabinet. What's this? Well the huzzy proceeds to push it out onto her balcony and then over the railing. That wench!! The helpless machine goes tumbling down a few stories then smashes to pieces. I was pretty un-nerved at the whole sight of this..

bjk7382
This isn't as bad as when my friend came over yesterday and told me the vectrex he had as a kid was thrown out by his mom. I was going to get it from him for like $40 with the box and 4 games.... I guess I won't now though.
Dr Galaga
Do you remember what song it was?
maibock
Do you remember what song it was? In a haste to block the noise from my conscious, I have blocked the name of the song. It wasn't a popular song I don't believe. Maybe a VH1 classic website has a list of songs they've played. It was on this past Sunday. Nukey Shay
"Almost Over You" In defense (not that I advocate destroying games...or advocate listening to her drivel at all)...it was either that machine or the Sinistar one. I think that she made the right choice if one HAD to go.
+Random Terrain
Knowing that she did great songs such as Sugar Walls, I'm surprised that classy lady would do something like that.
Stingray
I don't know, back in the day Defender frustrated me so badly that I very likely would have shoved one over a balcony if given the chance. To this day I still suck big time at Defender. -S
PacManPlus
Just as a side note, 'Sugar Walls' was written by Prince under a pseudonym.
Dr Galaga
Well, I Googled it and I found out that it was Almost Over You. There is a little more ranting of it here: http://www.madopal.com/uffish/archives/000049.html (What would we do without Google and the Internet?) Vic George 2K3
I actually liked the "Almost Over You" video, even with a videogame cabinet getting pushed over a balcony (maybe Sheena doesn't like Defender?) and all the brief glimpses of her(?) playing Sinistar near the end of it. Vic George 2K3
BTW, the ranting sounds more like fanboyish whining.

Well if he was traveling around the galaxy picking up humanoids and deploying "smart bombs", you could understand her desire to "push hyperspace" on the cabinet as revenge [/bad joke alert]
Ferris
If you had to listen to her sing that crap wouldnt you want to throw a Defender coin-op over the balcony too?? I think somewhere there's a lesson to be learned here.
Vic George 2K3
Admittedly, in a time when people were still getting over the Donny & Marie Osmond television show coming off the air, Sheen Easton coming out with her songs may have confused people, including myself. Yep, 'Morning Train' is a mind blower. Then Sheila E. came along and confused even more white people. "Sheila E.? Sheena Easton? Is that the same person? Which is which? I wish I had MTV!" No wonder I was thinking Sheena Easton was black! I did a google image search on her when I first saw this tread and was thinking "huh? Who's this?". I guess I'm just another of those confused white people. -S
povlok1
hearing of this travisty I spent a vast amount of time researching the history of this occurance.. and after much inner debate I have concluded this.. 'I'd do her'
sidcrowe
Defender gave you a chance. Sinistar was the real muthfucka by far. It was mistakenly cranked up because some suit thought it was too easy before it was released. "Run coward!"
Vic George 2K3
I actually enjoyed playing arcade Sinistar, regardless of its difficulty. It's far less intimidating control-wise than arcade Defender or (shudder) Stargate.
tillenterprises
Man, if she gets that worked up by singing that sappy love song, I wonder how many games she would destroy singing "Strut."

Trivia: Did you know that Strut rhymes with slut? I say that out of anger because she doesn't want to be my baby doll.
