Cousin Vinnie
The recent talk of Impossible Mission got Granny Vinnie off of her can and in front of a 7800 playing the game that has the "Biggest Flaw of them All". See what she thought at: http://www.bigfishusa.com/7800/impossiblemissionr.html Cousin Vinnie
+-^CrossBow^-
soo...Umm..Vinnie... How did Granny play the Pal version to come up with the scores on that? Or...were they simply based on the fact that the Pal version is beatable vs the NTSC one? Because if the Pal version will work on a bios modded NTSC 7800..then I have to start looking for one!!! +Propane13
Hey Vinnie, Only one thing prompted me with a question regarding the article-- the end comment about the people who made Sentinel. I think some people are confused as to where Sentinel NTSC came from. I believe that the new versions of Sentinel were simply made by a dump of one of the NTSC protos, burned on an EPROM and placed in a 7800 case. I didn't think there was anything too complicated, such as actual code changes, to finish this project, which is what I seem to be hearing once and awhile. But, it does bring up an interesting point... Why aren't the NTSC version of Sentinel and the PAL beatable version of Impossible Mission available for download at atariage.com? -John K. +Propane13
Oh, and BTW, I like the article. Always a neat flare of pizazz added to make the reading interesting. -John K. Harvey

The Sentinel ROM available for download is the NTSC version, even though the listing is for the PAL release. As for why there is no PAL version of Impossible Mission, I imagine it's because the ROM hasn't been generally available until I put it on my site a couple of weeks ago (though I don't have any links to it yet). It also doesn't work in the current version of MESS. Mitch http://atari7800.atari.org
+-^CrossBow^-
I have the PAL Mission Impossible rom code...(Thanks Mitch!!! found it hiding on your site one day back...). Anyway, I didn't think any of the pal 7800 game roms were working in Mess yet?
+Mitch
quoteI didn't think any of the pal 7800 game roms were working in Mess yet? Some of them partially worked in the previous version of MESS. You had to use the OS ROM from Eckhard's 7800 Dev system to do it though. Mitch http://atari7800.atari.org
Cousin Vinnie
Crossbow: The PAL scores are just based on the fact that the game can be beaten. NTSC release: Well, Granny mentioned this in the article/ review simply to regenerate interest in a worth while project. I think this would be a worthy "next project" for ResQsoft to perform. I'd know I'd buy it, I am currently enjoying Klax and the NTSC version of Sentinel from those lovely peeps right now. Cousin Vinnie
