Cuttle Cart 2's .CCU file direct editing

So I used BBEdit to wrap the .CCU file every 64 characters and displayed it in a monospace font and it's pretty readable.

Am I going to run into any trouble directly editing it this way and then dropping it back onto one continuous line when I'm done? I can see that I'll have to manually decide what bankswitching method to use and all that, but it should work right?

Yes, you are better off just working with the menu.txt file

Then after you get that how you want it, then run it thru the menu generator program, and then your pretty much done.

If you want to PM me I can guide you thru how to do it for the first time, but after you learn how, you won't believe how easy it really is. :)

The main reason I ask is because I keep my ROMS on my mac and my only PC is a Connectix Virtual PC program. Windows 95 boots reasonably fast, but running Windows 2000 is painfully slow.

Every time I wanted to change the CC2 menu I'd have to boot the virtual pc, copy the memory card contents over to it and then get started editing, blah blah blah, transfer it all back over to the mac side for USB support and then fill the memory card again.

I'm actually quite skilled at using BBEdit text editor to quickly convert any bunch of text into any other format, layout, whatever. I'm not convinced that using the generator program would be my fastest option.

I'll just have to give it a try and see if it works.
