ttony_at
Please exuse my limited knowledge of computers, but is hacking the same as disassembling (reverse enginering) a game? I found sites that have a few disassembled games: http://www.io.com/~nickb/atari/games.html http://www.qotile.net/minidig/ And I'd like to see the source code for Mountain King (CBS for Atari 2600). A lot of the secret kingdom in Mountain King remained loss until about 5 years ago. And I'm wondering if disassembling MK would help in discovering any and all other tricks that might lurk hidding somewhere!
Robert M
No, not really. You might disassemble a binary to increase what can be changed in the hack, but it is not required. All you need is Hex editor, or one of the more specialized Hacking tools. On the flip side, you can disassemble a binary just to learn how it works without ever intending to hack it. Cheers!
