Malix
OK I have been thinking about this for sometime now and I am sure I will recieve a ton of flame for it. Is it just me or are rare games not as good as popular ones. Ok with the 2600 some games are rare do to limited production because of some contest or special offer. But as far as most consoles and most rare games go, there is a good reason there are not many of them out there, They suck to play. I mean yeah a copy of Bass fishing world Championship for PSone might be harder to come by than Tony Hawk but there is a damn good reason for that. moycon
Maybe thats why there so rare... No one bought them to begin with because they sucked...So they never made more... So now there's not many around. Altho I think also alot of the rarer titles are from companies that couldnt make a huge batch of carts at one time anyways. jahfish
no, that's logic. they're rare because they were not produced (because they might sucked), or the production was stopped quickly again because it didn't sell ....
Ze_ro
I used to think that too, but there's actually a lot of rare games that are really good! For example: Marauder Xenophobe Motorodeo Montezuma's Revenge Star Wars: The Arcade Game They may not be as rare as Chase The Chuckwagon (Well, Motorodeo is much more rare), but they're all hard enough to find. But you're right for the most part... a lot of rare games aren't fun... same goes with a lot of the prototypes out there, probably the reason they weren't released in the first place. --Zero
Malix
Your right about xenophobe, that game does rock. But those are just a few examples out of alot of games and the 2600 is probably the best for rare games being good. I would like to see some lists of other systems games that are rare and dont suck. memorymoog
I think rare games are just as fun. I'm not sure what the ratio would be but most of my favorite games are from rare to er. Frankensteins monster montezumas revenge spy hunter hero Pitfall 2 By the same token i like joust, jungle hunt, mario bros, just as much... Paul Slocum
Some of my favorite rare ones are: Quadrun Rescue Terra I X-Man (not really fun, but funny) Wall Ball Mangia A couple of my least favorite are: Music Machine Chase the Chuckwagon -Paul
liveinabin
but by and large, yeah, with these few exceptions, very rare games bite. However, several very common games will suck too, because they obviously sold millions and, as we all know, the vast majority of people in the world are idiots.
