Gandev
Hello to all Atariage users.I love Atari 2600 and I have Nokia N-gage.It is sad that there is no 2600 emu for n-gage and the other symbian phones like Nokia 3650, 7650, 6600,6630 e.t.c. I would really like to play some classics into my phone, so can someone make or port emulator for all symbian enabled phones.I'm sure that many people want that, so someone has to do something! Thomas Jentzsch
Do they have enough CPU power?
Gandev
Of course it emulates msx, nes, snes, gameboy color, it won't be a problem to emulate atari!
Thomas Jentzsch
Of course it emulates msx, nes, snes, gameboy color, it won't be a problem to emulate atari! Emulating the Atari is completely different to emulating all those other machines. E.g. there is no simple framebuffer and exist a lot of dirty tricks to squeeze out better graphics out of a machine which was originally meant just for Pong-like games. And therefore it requires at least a 100 MHz PC to run most (but not all!) Atari games even on the fastest emulator.
Gandev
I think that the processor of n-gage is 103mhz or something like that.
Thomas Jentzsch
That might be just enough for about 80-90% of the games. How about the other phones? I suppose they are slower, right?
Gandev
I don't know exactly, bit I know that tge current emulators run slower on Nokia 3650 and Siemens SX-1.And actually the 6630's is the best.
