iguana
Yars Revenge, I have to keep it locked up or I spend way too much time on it (and I suck too) Also I get hooked on Missile Command and Astroids all the time

The MilkMan
Kaboom or Mario Bros. Oh and one other...one I never would of thought I'd be slamming the Reset Switch over-and-over....Stampede. Repetitive and kinda lame, but geez...I get suckered in ever time!
Lord Helmet
The beauty of classic games is that they are typically short and addictive. I like modern games too, but I wouldn't call them addictive. They just feel different.

Red 5
Warlords is still one of the best multiplayer games ever made. Tunnel Runner is my favorite though. Very addicting and as the levels go on, incredibly fast. 3D PacMan with no power pellets.
elviticus
Adventures of Tron is one I always come back to. I think as long as the game is hard, simple, fun and has a score they're mostly all addictive.

The_Laird
Here's my top 10 most addictive, in no particular order. Acid Drop - Its Columns on the 2600! Solaris - So much to explore. Missile Command - One of the greatest games ever made. Defender 2 - This version is pure class. Frogger - Can't believe no ones mentioned this. Warlords - Agree with you about multiplayer. Space Invaders - Legendary status. Ms. Pacman - My fave 2600 version. Galaxian - Fast and furious. California Games - Rival Warlords for best multiplayer title. Mindfield
My favourite addictive games: Montezuma's Revenge (Parker Bros.) -- Big game, lotsa screens, great gameplay and sound. Tunnel Runner (CBS) -- First-person maze on the 2600! Colourful graphics, great gameplay and randomly-generated mazes give this tremendous replay value. H.E.R.O. (Activision) -- Undisputed classic. Pitfall II (Activision) -- Another undisputed classic. Star Raiders (Atari) -- Yeah, it's common as heck, but it's still plenty of fun. Keystone Kapers (Activision) -- I dunno why, this is just a hell of a lot of fun. Crystal Castles (Atari) -- With a joystick this sucks, but play it on a CX22 or CX80 trak ball and it takes on a whole new dimension and actually becomes fun. Kangaroo (Atari) -- Surprisingly good arcade conversion. Track & Field (Atari) -- With the Track & Field controller this game retains a surprising amount of its accuracy and addictiveness of the arcade, which I played to death at the arcades back in the day. Bumper Bash -- One of the few fun rare titles -- or maybe it's just because I love pinball sims.
