It probably happened to be the OS he had a spare disc/license for. There's certainly no incentive to go out and spend $100 or more on a new Windows OS when the buyer is perfectly capable of doing that himself/herself.

 

Besides, somebody like me would just wipe the drive and put linux on it anyways. :)

Be carefull if you want to build a mini itx in a 2600: there will be heat build-up (even with a cool-running mini-itx) and the lack of space is really frustrating/annoying.

 

I do like the DVD front loader, have to try that ...
