crveatch
OK, I don't know what it's called and that's part of my problem in replacing it. But the part that connects the jumper pins on a harddrive to specify master or slave is missing. Where can I buy a replacement?

elliott
They are called "jumpers". If there is a thrift store near you that sells old computer parts you could "barrow" one off of a CD Drive, Hard Drive, or old motherboards. If you have a conscience you could buy the cheapest piece of hardware those jumpers are connected to. Edited July 7, 2005 by elliott

Bruce Tomlin
Or just take a part a junker computer. You can find lots of those things, especially in older computers.
yuppicide
Yep. Radioshack probably sells jumpers. CompUSA will sell them also. PM me if you still need a jumper or two. I am sure I can dig one up from the stuff I have here. If you PM me give me your address and I'll send the jumpers out ASAP.
