Can anyone complete the list?

What do you think of this? I'm rather certain it's genuine too but I don't know if I've found a real bargain or not...

Telegames has used both cart styles you describe for a handful of their games. I'd say it's unusual to find either (particularly the "plastic cover" version), but I wouldn't consider them more valuable except perhaps for the completist collector. But the good news is both carts are very likely genuine and not unauthorized repros. :)

Thanks for your reply! You're certainly right when you say that neither of them is an unauthorized repro and I was quite sure about that. I don't know if they're more valuable or not but, don't ask me why, when I saw them I was excited! ;) Sure they're unusual to find and by the way I don't plan to sell them...

Weird? I think I've only seen a Qix on a green board? All my Telegames carts are curved lip. So it looks like Alpine Games?

The one thing some and only some Telegames carts lack are the Atari logos on the back.

So can anyone tell me if all Telegames carts come in Atari and non-Atari logo form?

Great find by the way eh!

Just what I needed more stuff to collect :)

So it looks like Alpine Games?

Let's say it's similar (I own Alpine Games too and it has also an eeprom to save the high scores: that is a custom cart style). My copy of Desert Strike is on a green pcb 2 identical to the one shown on Atari Age Atari Lynx Cartridge Styles page. You're right when saying that finding Desert Strike on a curved lip cart is more common (I own a copy on curved lip too). By the way, if I would have some spare time, I would take a photo to both Desert Strike and Super Off Road and post it here. Have a good day! :)

C'mon... sell it to me! LOL

I really need to sit down and update my list of games.

Hello to everyone! :) I've taken a couple of photos for each game (FRONT and BACK)...

Yep... I think that Desert Strike is a simple self burned eprom. There was a guy selling almost that exact one on ebay around 2-3 years ago. But I could be wrong. Perhaps Songbird can answer that one. I thought I had a picture from that auction back then, but I can't find it now.

The other one looks pretty cool though.

I still think you need to sell it! LOL

The Super Off Road is legit. I just bought a copy of Krazy Ace Mini Golf (FINALLY!!!) from Lance at Video 61, still sealed in the Telegames box, and the cart looks exactly like your Super Off Road.

It's a monster-huge two-sided cart cover, huh? It just barely fits in my Lynx game cart holder (plastic baseball card sleeves) ... I got it in with a lot of effort, and will not be able to remove it without slicing the sleeve open.

Cheers,

Smeg

Hey Atari Smeghead...

How much was that Krazy Ace? I've been needing that one.

It cost a painful $99.99. I debated for years before finally deciding to buy it from Video 61. They are the ONLY place I can find that still has any, and according to Lance, he only has one left and might not be getting any more due to the falling US currency situation. But, his shipping and insurance is free, so that does lessen the blow somewhat.

So, hey, with the purchase of Krazy Ace and Pounce, I now have 112 Lynx carts, 109 unique and 3 duplicates. Which as far as I am concerned is the complete collection! (Well... The only two carts I am missing are the CGE 5th Anniversary and PITS, neither of which seem to pop up in the wild.)

I'm rather proud of this collection. I'll put up pictures when I get around to it. (Actually, I have one cart in this collection that is essentially a pre-release of an upcoming title, and I promised I would not divulge the info until after it has been officially released. So, I need to wait until then before I can do the complete collection pics.)

Cheers,

Smeg

You could always put up a pic with that particular cart blanked out. I'd love to see a pic of the complete collection!

Note, my current list of Lynx games on my database equal out to 126. I'll need to check a few things in it, but going off this list above and adding a few others (Daemonsgate and whatnot)

Did you Atari Smeghead... did you grab Pounce at the same area? Talk to you later. Time to hit the sack

No, I'm quite sure it isn't a self made copy. If you carefully look at the photo, you'll see "H9913" engraved on the pcb and this means that it's a genuine green pcb 2.

Yep... I think that Desert Strike is a simple self burned eprom. There was a guy selling almost that exact one on ebay around 2-3 years ago.

I know the guy you're talking about: he's from Poland and (even nowadays on Ebay) sells Lynx games on self made pcbs (especially Raiden, AVP and Marlboro Go!).

I can say this for sure because in the past I bought a Lynx games lot and, among the other games, there was a copy of Raiden made by him and it's completely different (it's VERY VERY easy to say it's a self made copy, nothing to do with the copy of Desert Strike we're talking about).

By the way, though I'm quite sure, I don't pretend to be right: I think the only one who could tell the final word is Songbird.

Yes, you're right! It's a monster cartridge and I had difficulties in fitting it too! ;)

Okay.. I got a total of 130 different carts. I think I have 91 or so from this list.

Some of them can be left off the list (for instance for Space Incident, I have two entries. The first one I bought, and then the Red PCB version I bought).

Here's my database. I blanked out what I have and don't have... but you can place an x in the owned column and it will automatically start count your games for you.

I don't collect the manuals and boxes anymore, otherwise I'd add a few more columns.

That's the list I have... and the one I've been using for a while now.

I added a few new ones on there.

Enjoy!

You are right about the Desert Strike I think. I don't believe it was the guy from Poland.

Here's a picture of the carts he was making: Obviously different.

Well.. if you ever want to sell the ones you have... I'd be interested. I'd pay well or trade well for them! :)

And... I guess you can actually add these different types of carts to the database. I know some people don't collect all versions, but I tend to like the different version (flat, curved lip, ridged, EPROM, etc)

Yup, I did get Pounce while I was at it. A new release... couldn't pass that up! :D

I tried to look at your Lynx list, but the .xlsx format didn't want to open with anything I had. I tried to get Excel to open it, which only gave me gibberish. And now, I can't try to open it with anything else... bloody XP, anyway.

I'd like to see the list, to see how our lists differ.

Interesting! You've made me curious. I wonder what that is. I had hints of SOMETHING being released a bit down the road. If it is what I am think it is, you are one lucky son of a gun. But that also means GREAT news for me as well!!!!

I've just been given permission to break the news, and I will do so in a fresh post!

Cheers,

Smeg

Say, those are my carts! I posted that pic at some point in the past.

I do feel a bit bad that my copy of Raiden is not legit (as you can see). If I do happen to see a Raiden auction some day, I'll probably bid on it. But the other titles aren't a big deal, since they are ones I could've gotten elsewhere. In fact, I ended up getting four more of his titles (through Buddy Buddies, when he decided to get out of Lynx collecting). You see which ones once I post my complete Lynx collection!

Cheers,

Smeg

Fortunately, I have been given permission to leak the new Lynx game, so after I do that, I'll start a new post with my collection. I've been dying to share it with everyone!!!
