STing and Telnet?

Guys, is there anything that needs to be adjusted to let telnet work with

STing? I've got Rorys EtherNEC on the Mega ST running my BBS, and I can't

telnet *in* at all - I always get a "connection refused".

 

I can use CAB to access the 'Net with no problems. I can ping out, and

from other comps on the LAN I can ping the Mega ST. So thats working.

 

Any ideas? Thanks.

I think that you need to have some kind of authorization to allow incoming requests, like when you need an FTP server (or a sort of) to let people FTP in.

Maybe this is something achievable through the Sting Config. file...

Well, you'd need a telnet daemon/service of some sort. You are attempting to come in in on port 23 ( telnet ), but nothing is listening. Google for telnetd.

er, assuming your BBS is not listening for telnet connects? If it is, make sure its on the standard port.

My bad guys. I thought the version of Express I changed to listened for telnet. It does not. Thats why there is no connection.
