swandy
Aside from the graphical changes, is there any other difference between Arcade Asteroids on the FB2 and the original Astroids on the cartridges? Maybe I am getting older (no sh*t), but it seems harder to me - like the difficulty level was boasted to make it more like the arcade version. Thanks, Steve
Feralstorm
I'm not aware of it being more than a graphical hack.

keilbaca
If you can play roms on your atari either by supercharger, krokodile cart or cuttle cart 1 or 2, get Sadistroids. Its under the hacks section and its MUCH harder than normal.
Flojomojo
Asteroids is waaay to easy for me. You need to get some saucer hunting skills. I was rolling the score over the first time I plugged the FB2 in. Good times!

Thanks, Steve 935513[/snapback] I am curious as to why they included the hacked version of Asteroids and not the original. Indeed, it seems odd that so many of the 'defining' games of the 2600 are missing: Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pacman (well, it was a defining moment), Ms. Pacman, Superman, and Video Pinball. Licensing might have caused a problem with some of them (though I'm curious: since Space Invaders doesn't use any of Taito's original graphics, and since any patents on Space Invaders have expired, and since the name "Space Invaders" appears nowhere in Atari's ROM, would there be any legal problem with including a game called "Marching Aliens" which just so happens to be bit-for-bit identical to the cartridges earlier called "Space Invaders"?) but there should have been some way to include at least some of those old games unaltered.
