Goochman
Well I was one of the lucky folks to get Berzerk early due to the Atari Club (or whatever that magazine was called ). It was great. Looked just like the arcade and had decent sounds. Everyone I knew wanted to borrow the cart since I was the only one to have it. It was also great to finally get an Arcade port that looked like the Arcade - Esp since the Colecovision had just come out with Donkey Kong around that time! Play game 9 diff A and see if you can last 3 hours I would agree that Berzerk should go down as one of the better Arcade translations for the 2600. Inky
Berzerk for the 2600 was good, but nothing beats the 5200 version. Heck, the horrid 52 controllers even work well with it. I also like the sharware version someone created for the ST computer. That one rocks even more!
Scott Stilphen
It's one of the best arcade ports IMO. Plus, there's plenty of tricks and bugs to keep it interesting If diagonal shots aren't possible, then what about having different mazes? berzerk
I wouldn't call me overrated, i'm just right quote: Originally posted by bergbros: I know that some put Berzerk as their favorite. I can't for the simple reason that the robots can not fire diagnolly. That removes a huge element and challenge from the gameplay. That and the six mazes only and the result is a game that gets pretty repetitive quickly.
