5200 Controllers

I've recently been collecting for the Atari XL and am considering starting a collection for the 5200.

 

After reading about the 5200 controller problems I was wondering if anyone here has been using the stock 5200 controllers with all Gold contact pads, and if so, how have they been holding up over time (in other words, how is their reliability)?

I have one and it works great, although I haven't had it for an extended period of time, so it's too early for me to say just how long they last. It is supposed to be the final fix for the controller. I got the parts from Best Electronics.

I dont have the gold contact 5200 contacts, but I have my fire buttons using plain old tin foil.

They work great, but every now and again I have to clean them or have to redo them. My guess is the gold contacts work fine.

I have 1 5200 controller with the Best Electronics gold contacts. They work great. The other controller I have I redid all of the contacts with glue and powdered graphite. It works great also.
