Tempest Posted November 21, 2005 Share Posted November 21, 2005 I read in some old newgroup messages that it is possible to get color icons on a Mega STE with TOS 2.0.6. Does anyone know how to do this? One of my biggest gripes has always been that the ST desktop is so bland looking, the Falcon desktop really looks snazzy with its colored icons. krupkaj Posted November 22, 2005 Share Posted November 22, 2005 (edited) It is possible, all you need is resource editor which is capable of drawing color icons (Resource Master, Interface). There must be RSC file with icons in your root folder of your boot drive. I am not sure but it must have name DESKICON.RSC. When TOS find this file during boot it is read and replace the icons inside TOS ROM. But as I am using Thing desktop for long time I don't remember the filename properly, so please check it in documentation (TOS.hyp or The Atari Compendium).
