danwinslow
http://cgi.ebay.com/Atari-game-First-Origi...1QQcmdZViewItem Does he have a point? I messaged him that the cart was a) Not from Atari, b) Not the 'first' atari game, and c) not 'very rare'. He insisted that he was correct...and yknow I don't know a whole lot about 2600 stuff so I thought I would ask the experts.
Room 34
Well, that's Target Fun, which was the pack-in with the Sears Telegames Video Arcade, which actually was released slightly before the Atari-branded VCS itself, so in some ways you could argue that it is the first game for the system. HOWEVER, what's shown in the auction is NOT an original 1977 Target Fun cart. The original Target Fun has red printing, not yellow, and the printing is "sloppier" looking, like the original 1977 text/number Atari carts' labels. Here's a scan of the red label version from the AA archives: Edited December 31, 2005 by Room
ATARIPITBULL
And another thing, where does the seller get the idea that his cart is mint? it looks pretty used to me!
jetset
About 75% of the time an Atari cart is listed as "rare", it's not.
A.J. Franzman
And another thing, where does the seller get the idea that his cart is mint? it looks pretty used to me! 991800[/snapback] At least he was kind enough to provide 2 crappy closeups of the huge mint condition scrape mark (one out-of-focus and one with camera shake).
