chrisr
I picked up an XE last week and finally got a chance to check out some of the Atari 8bit games I have. I was so dissapointed at frogger. The graphics are strange looking and the game lacks music (which I think the frogger music is catchy). I find it strange that a 2600 game blows away the 8bit game, in graphics and sound. It kinda makes you wonder what else arcadia could have achieved with the sc. Chris
Pitfall Harry
The lack of sound in the Parker Brother's Atari 8-bit Frogger is a disappointment. But to be fair to the Atari 8-bit's capabilities, you should be comparing Starpath's Official Frogger for the 2600 to the cassette tape version of Official Frogger written by John Harris. If you do, you will find that the Atari 8-bit really can and does put out the best Frogger of any classic platform. John Harris' translation is as close to arcade perfect as can be imagined. This is not to take anything away from the Supercharger version of Frogger. It, too, truly is a wonder. Ben
