best not released non cartridge item for 7800

I voted for the 5200 adapter because had it been released, people who had a 5200 could upgrade to a 7800 without facing the same dilemma 2600 owners had when they got a 5200 before the 2600 adapter came out.

 

Then again, since the 7800 adapter was already a WIP during the time the 7800 was introduced, it would've made the 5200 adapter redundant.

You've got it backwards. The 5200 adapter was to play 7800 games on a 5200, not the other way around. It was going to be just an update of the old T-bar 2600 adapter.

According to the dp guide, there was 5200 adapter to play 5200 games on a 7800. There also was a 7800 prosystem game adapter that had 7800 games play on a 5200. The guide I have is was made in 2002. Remember the Adapter I had on the poll was in the rumor mill section. This info might be wrong.

For nostalgia sake I said the laser disc but had it existed the 5200 adaptor would have been a close second.
