blinko
What I have: 1 XEGS, complete with keyboard, paddles, joystick, lightgun, video touch pad, and 12 games 1 XF551 disk drive What I need: To know how to use it. The only Atari experience I have is with a 2600 when I was a kid. The XEGS doesn't quite seem like it's working properly, but I can't be sure. It boots up to a blue 'ready' screen with curser when the keyboard is plugged in, it goes to missile command when I resart it and hold select or without the keyboard attached. However, I can't get any other games to work, make it open BASIC, or complete the memory test. Any idea what's going on?
Osbo
usually in my system boots right up with a cart in the slot. get a sio2pc cable, you'll enjoy the XEGS way more.
deathtrappomegranate
Are your games on cartridge, disk or cassette?
Goochman
The 'READY SCREEN' means you are in Basic - Sounds like things are starting normally - as deathtrap asked - are your games on disk or cart?

Almost Rice
all games on cart. i just got done gutting and cleaning it, and it now completes the memory test. what version(s) basic were typical with xegs? 1005584[/snapback] Did you clean the cart. connectors? That is the most likely culprit. If they are clean, then insert and pull out a cartridge a few times into the cart. port. That is the other end you may have to clean.
