If I had that console, my first step in troubleshooting (aside for checking for loose wires) would be to try a POKEY game like Ballblazer or Commando; if POKEY produces audio but TIA does not, it's almost certainly a TIA problem. If neither produce sound, it could be the RF modulator or the audio circuitry that feeds it.

However, it's not worth the time, money, or effort unless you can get it really cheap IMHO. Also watch out for 7800's with bad power, select, pause, or reset buttons. Those are fixable, but why bother if you can find one without those problems for a few more $. By the way, with some games (Donkey Kong Jr. for the 7800, for example), having a 7800 with no sound could be considered an added feature! If it was a little bit cheaper, I'd say it would make a good source of spare parts for another 7800. Loose MARIA chips are getting hard to come by, and it's always nice to have an extra 7800 power supply. Paranoid
Wow... nothing for days, then this. I passed it by. Sounds like it is priced too high for what it is, anyhow. I managed to pick up one represented as "in great condition" for $12.50... so, we'll see... They've been going as high as $58 plus shipping with 1 game, recently, on eBay. People are nuts. shadow460
Fifty eight bucks is too stinking much if it's only got one game. I paid $55 for mine with 17 7800 games, many were CIB, it had both Activision titles in the lot, and it also had a handful of 2600 titles. One of those was CIB, too. The whole lot had instructions except for PPII, the system, and one of the other Atari games.
Paranoid
It went nuts right about the time I decided to buy one. *sigh* And I'm pretty sure part of what is happening is resellers are snapping them up to resell them on eBay for a profit.
