King Atari
I've got this game sitting here, and I can't make any sense of it? I even have the manual, but it doesn't help a whole lot. Has anyone ever played this? Better yet, has anyone ever beaten it? For the record, it's the 1987 game by Virgin.
Tempest
By Virgin? Are you sure it's not by Infocom? Tempest
King Atari
The title screen says it's by Virgin, but the the manual says mastertonic, so I have no idea as to which it would be. The disk also says mastertonic, and the manual and game seem to match up.
Tempest
Is it a text adveture game with pictures or some other type of game? Tempest
King Atari
It's not a text adventure. It's kind of like "The Legend of Zelda" for your computer, except it's set in Japan and you have to become emperor (or something like that). Anyways, there's a window at the bottom where you can choose different actions, as well as inventory boxes. Little messages appear, alerting you to something I can't figure out. If it sounds familiar, you might recognize it by the fact that the character you choose can walk through the air for no apparent reason. liveinabin
Mastertronic started out as a budget label for all 8-bit formats in 84 (games priced at £1.99). Since they were cheap, EVERYBODY had some of their games, so they quickly became a big name and, later in the 80s, were bought out by Virgin (yes, the same Mr Bransons company). As well as releasing computer games, the new Virgin/mastertronic handled distribution of the Sega Megadrive (Genesis) in UK. hope that helps They did some good stuff - Falcon Patrol and Dan Dare to name a couple.
