t.skid
It's possible to re-convert the disk images (.st, . msa.. etc) back to diskette, then using it on a real ST?
Goochman
Its easy but you need a 720K formatted floppy (I dont believe you can use a 1.44 floppy formatted for 720K). Just Load up your favorite ST emulator and copy the .msa disk to your 720K floppy on your IBM. You can then take it to your ST and play away. Prob a few minor details Im missing but I did this a few years back.
sonnenhexer
I use PacifiST and it is ok, but when I want to play on an Atari ST, I visit a friend of mine, he collects old homecomputers and sometimes we link an Atari ST and an Amiga 500 and play Stunt Car Racer and other Games, great. Goochman
I used Pacifist when I was convverting a few old games I never got to play on my 1040 You dont need the best, just one that supports floppy disks. Come to think of it, I believe there is a msa->disk converter utility out there? If I can find mine I'll let you know.
t.skid
Thanks Goochman!! Sonnenhexer: Do you remember a VERY OLD game for the ST called "Brataccas" (if I remember..)? It was the first game for the ST I saw, and probably one of the first....
t.skid
Thank you. What emulator do this work in better way? PacifiST? Thankssss
Goochman
I bought Brataccas and didnt like it. Control was weird and the game very frustrating, IMHO . Time Bandit I found to be awesome though!
Goochman
t.skid - give me your email address. I found the utility called makedisk that can move .st disks to floppies and vice versa (ie, take your real ST disk and make an image usable for PaCIFIST) I also have a utility for msa->st I can send also. t.skid
Thanks Goochman, I've sent you a message. About Brataccas: I remember the weird control, but after lot of time I had learn to control it in a fair way, and, if I remember well - lot of years, as you now - it was a good game. t.skid
UPDATE: With the files that Goochman sent me, I was able to re-convert to disk the .st images. Unluckilly, the program to convert .msa ---> .st didn't work anymore (probably it need an old dos version). So, with google I've searched for an updated version of "makedisk": at this address: http://atarist.free.fr/emulation.htm There is makedisk 1.4, that works with .st and .msa images. It must be used in DOS, not in a windows dos box. With this, the problem is solved! Thanks again to Goochman
