Flojomojo
http://www.edge-online.co.uk/archives/2006..._in_america.php $75 for a year (13 issues) is still expensive, but it's as cheap as it's ever been. Last time I tried to price this, it was in the $135 range. I'm signing up.
thomasholzer
To Germany it's still an expensive GBP 68.00, (Euro 100), in $s that's 129.00. (As for being UKs best game mag, that is very doubtful. I have 137 issues from issue 1 onwards, Edge is/was always full of mistakes) Edited September 18, 2006 by thomasholzer
carmel_andrews
Didn't edge magazine have a previous incarnation in the US called New or next generation magazine (as it did share various articles and features and have a very similar layout and content)
Flojomojo
EDGE is the original. There was a sister magazine in the USA called Next Generation, which was later shortened to Next Gen which had a similar layout and some of the same content. It folded around 2001 because of low subscriber numbers. NG was one of the few US game mags that attempted to treat its readers as adults. There weren't any silly quote pages, no comics strips, no codes & tricks, just industry articles, reviews, and some columns about trends in design. I supose "Play" is the current magazine that comes the closest to the feeling of NG, but it's a bit more "kiddie" than I would like. Another UK magazine that's worth a look is Games TM, which has about a dozen pages of retro content each month. I can't really justify getting both, so I'm sticking with EDGE for now.
