Ok. So as I'm bored passing time waiting for this thing I figured I'd go over the game Pak's available for it.

The third one is the "Atari Arcade Pak". This consists of two parts. The "Arcade Origina's" and the 2600 games some of which include "Arcade at Home". Hence I'm gonna split this one up into two seperate blog entries. Today I'm gonna start with the 2600 side. According to Curt they have added 65 VCS games from the Atari 80's license. Since Curt didn't name them and the awecades sites makes no mention I'm gonna have to guess here.

Here is a list of possible games it includes.

Atari 3D Tic Tac Toe, Atari Adventure, Atari Air-Sea Battle, Asteroids, Atari Video Cube, Backgammon, Battlezone, Blackjack, Bowling, Breakout, Canyon Bomber, Casino, Centipede, Circus Atari, Atari Combat, Crystal Castles, Demons To Diamonds, Desert Falcon, Atari Dodge 'Em, Double Dunk, Atari Flag Capture, Football, Fun With Numbers, Golf, Gravitar, Hangman, Haunted House, Atari Home Run, Human Cannonball, Atari Math Gran Prix, Atari Maze Craze, Millipede, Miniature Golf, Missile Command, Atari Night Driver, Off The Wall, Atari Outlaw, Quadrun, Radar Lock, Realsports Baseball, Realsports Football, Realsports Tennis, Realsports Volleyball, Sky Diver, Slot Machine, Atari Slot Racers, Atari Space War, Sprint Master, Star Raiders (keypad mapped to buttons), Atari Star Ship, Steeplechase, Stellar Track, Atari Street Racer, Atari Submarine Commander, Atari Super Baseball, Super Breakout, Atari Super Football, Atari Surround, Swordquest: Earthworld, Swordquest: Fireworld, Swordquest: Waterworld, Video Checkers, Video Chess, Video Olympics, Video Pinball, Warlords, Yar's Revenge.

There are 67 titles in my list so I'm not sure what was excluded.

PC emulators done by Digital Eclipse. For the most part these guys are very good at what they do. With the possible exception of the Wizard Of War goof they made. But I think that existed in only ONE console release. Some of you should recognize these titles as they are the ones included with the Atari 80 Classic Games in One for the PC. They were also released for all the Xbox and PS2 as Atari Anthology. I'm not sure how the interface works on the PC, but on the Xbox one of the neat things about it was when you "selected" a game number it listed what that variation was. No need to reference a manual anymore!

A few comments about the games..

Adventures - Attack of the killer ducks! One of the first games to include an easter egg. This one is a classic and is always fun to play!

Breakout - I've always sucked at this. Even more so with a joystick. But maybe that little spinner I got will make it easier.

Circus Atari - Pop the balloons! This oughta be pretty fun with the spinner.

Maze Craze - I just listed this cause I've always liked this game for some reason. Especially the kerSPLAT sound it makes when you get caught by a cop. Yes those square's are cop's!

Atari Outlaw - I'm not a real big fan of this type game. But I'd have to say the 2600 version included the best variations of this classic game.

Star Raiders - Another classic that originated on Atari's 8-bit computers. I heard the 2600 version is pretty good. Curt and gang were nice enough to map the controls to the buttons so that this one is playable.

Yar's Revenge - Another great atari classic named after an Atari exec!

Curiosity has got this cat. I wonder what would happen if one would plug in a stella adapter... :?::ponder::?:
