Rob Mitchell
There's a nice generic article about Ralph Baer in the September 2006 issue of "Smithsonian" magazine. It mostly talks about Simon .. but it does say that the Smithsonian recently collected early versions of his works .. which I presume would include "the black box". And back in May in a book review in "The New York Times" about failure and invention, there was a Ralph Baer quote: "engineers are in the habit of 'looking at the world as if everything in it needs fixing.''' Hats off to Mr. Baer. Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
Flojomojo
Sweet, I live close to the Museum of American History and haven't checked out the computer exhibit for a while ... this might be something to look for.

You know .. the Smithsonian is kinda like the warehouse in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Gotta wait until they pull it out. Rob Mitchell
thomasholzer
with the 'black box', you probably mean the 'brown box', as in Magnavox Odyssey: http://www.pong-story.com/intro.htm
