Curt Vendel
Looks like the engineers have been busy over at Awecades... Here is a spyshot of their soon to be released next arcade product: P.A.M. (Personal Arcade Machine) Rumors have it, it has a 17" LCD display, is a "Cabaret-Convertible" system, a proprietary new design exclusively by Awecades - you can use it as a free-standing cabaret style/sized unit, or you can remove the top 1/3 of the system and use it as a tabletop arcade unit to put on a desk or a bartop. More details to follow soon, shhhhhh, don't tell anybody Curt
+DamonicFury
Looks really nice! While clearly too small for 2-player games, it still retains both joysticks for Robotron-style action. The bartop conversion idea is EXCELLENT... perhaps you could even sell it as a bartop, and offer the bottom base as an optional extra. In any case, looks like a great design for those desiring a multicade that doesn't lot of space.
keilbaca
Why are the player 2 controls on the other machine backwards? I can't play fighters like that...
Curt Vendel
Really? Originally many were skeptical at the orientiation we decided on (which btw - some customers have requested our CP-500R panel which has the right player controller mirrored like the left player) Many seem to like the orientation, we went this route to open up the center area of the panel for the trackball controller as the right player joystick seemed too close and we give a wider opening for players to use the TB. Also we offer as an add-on a spinner controller which goes above the trackball at the top center so games like super breakout, pong, warlords (for player 1), tempest, victory, and so forth have spinner accurate gameplay. Curt Vendel
Already a step ahead of you on that, for $100 less you'll be able to buy just the bartop section of the unit. Not shown in that photo, but above the trackball we added in the option for a spinner controller. The Personal in the PAM (Personal Arcade Machine) was really meant for this to be more of a single player (alternating 2 player) system and originally it was going to have just 1 joystick, but after the HD image came back from the coder and I played several games like Battlezone, Black Widow and Robotron the gameplay was completely unacceptable and we added in the additional controller (which also doubles for Joust/Joust2 and Combat/Spacewar as a player 2 joystick because we just felt that the 2p feature of the those games needed to have the joystick configure for 2 players and to use the orange fire button as the player 2 control) I got yelled at for posting the spyshot last night, the official PR with more details, more photos and features and pricing will be posted on the 15th and the units go on sale on the 22nd, just in time for the holidays Curt Looks really nice!
