RAM - Random Access Memories - Saturday Morning TV

Once again we see what Saturday morning TV has become in America,

especially ion broadcast TV when this past Saturday, Kids WB (yes, it's

still Kids WB despite the merger) premiered it's new season. How bad is

it, (enough so I decided to post it here rather than the entertainment

forum) let me count the shows.

Tom and Jerry Tales

Being a fan of the classic cartoons I actually had high hopes for this one.

But what I got can actually be seen in any video game. There is a lot of chases

but very little else. In my mind this show is designed for younger kids maybe

5 and under like the show that starts the morning, Kryto the Superdog. Which

had aired on Cartoon Network till this season.

Shaggy and Scooby Get a Clue

Except for just 1 series, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo. There has not been a

Scooby-Doo series designed for just the younger set till now. Done in Flash

and boy does it look it. The plots are extremely weak, and so are the

villians. The Monarch in the Venture Brothers series has more brains

than the super villian in this series, who is out to get nano technology

created by Shaggy's Uncle (who just happens to be a billionaire). I say

unless your under 10 avoid this series.

Johnny Test

Now in it's second season to me this is the only bright spot in the entire

Kids WB line up. Johnny Test is imaginative, brillant, and has humor for

all ages. Take one scene from Johnny Test and the monster trucks, wherein

they are talking about love as the only way of defeating a living monster

truck. Dukie (a talking dog, and Johnny's sidekick) mentions that when

dogs wants to show there love for another dog they do this special kind

of hopping. Mind you they do have to keep it G rated.

On another network...

Is possibly the best action animated series I have seen in a long time.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast Foreward

The TMNT are shot 100 years into the future to the year 2105 by this

boy genius. The weapons are fantastic, the storyline is multileveled,

as you think you know who the villian is but they throw twists and turns

that keep you wanting more. The writting is first rate, and the characters

are well thought out, including the robots personalities. Even though you

may have to look hard for this one, I say give it a chance. Who knows

you just may like it.
