Crimefighter
Over the weekend I went down to the Heartland Pinball & Arcade Show in Herrin, IL. I talked with one of the event organizers about the convention. He is now a columnist for Gameroom Magazine. http://rap-sheet.livejournal.com/117926.html And here are the photos from the event -- http://rap-sheet.livejournal.com/118154.html Edited October 3, 2006 by Crimefighter
Technosis
Over the weekend I went down to the Heartland Pinball & Arcade Show in Herrin, IL. This select bit from the conversation caught my attention (not that this is any surprise): <snip> CF: Where do you see the arcade industry going considering the home console market have basically garnered more attention? RC: I think it’s over for the video arcade industry, unless it has a steering wheel or gas pedal or some other type of interface that’s too expensive for people to buy for a X-Box or something like that, it has to be fun and unique to control that simulates the real experience of racing and you’ve got something. <end>
Crimefighter
Yeah I've been to such an arcade with a bunch of Nascars to simulate racing. There's some other types of games that aren't easily made into a home version...
