PacManPlus
I think I know why it wasn't used in the first place - it looks *horrible* on a real TV. Here's a demo that uses 320B mode, (I had to turn Kangaroo mode on, in order to see the red color) It just shows Blinky (movable with the joystick), exactly how he's made up in the Arcade game. I tried looking at this on the real thing, and he just looks all deformed. 'No transparency' (Kangaroo mode) won't look very good when the characters overlap, either. That's my guess as to the two reasons why it wasn't used from the start. Please let me know if I'm way off here... To see this on CC2, use this line: Sprite Demo 7800SPRT 7800_32K 78QUICK 7800SPRT.ZIP
Bruce Tomlin
That weird transparency mapping between adjacent pixels that makes Kangaroo-mode necessary doesn't help either.
