It doesn't look so bad in print I guess, but actually hearing people say it sounds like they are mentally deficient. So I guess anytime I hear anyone say "wii", I think it's dumb. Get over it. "iPod" sounded retarded as well. Ford Probe anyone? Ouch! I was playing a demo game on the PS3 for the first time in a Target store, and a woman asked me if the LCD monitor was included with the system. I know the PS3 is expensive, but to expect a TV to be included??? And as for bad product names, I think the current winner goes to a car - 500. As in the "Ford Five Hundred." Huh? Not to mention it's one of the blandest, most boring cars I've ever seen. I just roll my eyes at this TV commercial that talks about how cars are "fun," and it features this lump. Which proves the point, a good product can have a bad name, and people will accept a bad name if the product is good enough. Douglas Adams once wrote about a car... It was a low, bulbous shape, like a small whale surfing -- sleek, gray, and rounded and moving at terrifying speed. He probably was writing about a more expensive car, but I always think of "like a small whale surfing" when I see that car... very interesting bulbous design, I kind of dig it.
