AtariVox VS SaveKey

obviously the AtariVox does the job of two and is overall the better deal, but what about data storage alone?

- do they work the same (i know that homebrewers are requesting to have sections of AtariVox set aside for their games)?

- do they have the same amount of space?

- same lifespan?

- etc?

here's what i can gather so far from the research i've done (but i'm sure someone has all the answers, i'm just not finding them):

----------------------------
| AtariVox | SaveKey |
----------------------------
|	yes |	yes | rewritable
----------------------------
|	yes |	no | audio synth function
----------------------------
|	??? |	yes | compatible with vectrex
----------------------------
|somewhat|	yes | portable
----------------------------
| hmm	| perhaps	| most likely to break
----------------------------
| $50 | $10 | price
----------------------------

(AtariVox sold thru AtariAge.com / SaveKey sold thru AtariService.com)

any other input?

EDIT: man, this forum just raped my little ASCII table :(

Yes

same lifespan?

Yes, 1 million writes and a 200 year data retention

To make the SaveKey, all I did was take out the memory part of the AVox and put it onto a small PCB.

Both units should be compatible with consoles / 8-bits with matching controller port pinouts (and obviously the required drivers)

my SaveKey came in the other day. man is that thing TINY, and it's not nearly as flimsy as i thought it would be. in fact it's not flimsy at all. i haven't used it yet, as i just realized my 2600 switchbox is now broken, so i'll probably get a coax converter thing from the AA store.

Glad you got it okay, I tried to somewhat fix your table, without much success. LOL
