How many hours have you logged on Zelda so far?

It isn't REALLY that bad is it? It can't be! I've seen reviews saying the graphics are great but... man, from those YouTube videos, it looks pretty hideous.
No, it's not that bad. Zelda: TP is an absolutely beautiful game. There has to be some higher-res trailers or gameplay movies on the net somewhere, rather than YouTube.

Well as I've posted before, it really aint no Gears of War. Of course not. It's a Gamecube game.

That being said, once you get into the game you'll see it really doesn't matter. The graphics are more than adequate for immersion. It's a friggin beautiful game. But hi-def? Nah.

I am really digging the animal motif in this game. Most Zeldas have an underlying motif, like music, dreams, time, masks, or something, but none are better presented than this.

I spent a while just watching the birds in a couple of different spots yesterday and was pretty impressed to see that their behaviour, flight patterns and chirping seem to be pretty random. Ditto for the cat colony. I also think it's very cool that you can pick up cats, play with dogs and even transform to have conversations with various animals. Add in the fishing, bug catching and species logs and it gives the game a solid organic, mother nature charm I haven't seen before.

Notice too that all humans are terrified of the wolf form, but of course most animals don't care and the Gorons are not bothered by it either.

Well, YouTube isn't the best way to judge the quality of a game's graphics. Having said that, I will concur that the playfields are a little rough, with smeared textures and noticable polygonal edges. If you're looking for Oblivion-quality fields and forests, you're definitely not going to get them here. The characters sure look great, though!

So I finally finished Twilight Princess last night at about the 60 hour mark. I haven't played a game with such depth and of such stunning overall quality ever I'd say. There has got be at least another 10-20 hours of playtime in there as I didn't get all of the upgrades, bugs, hearts, poes or fish.

Maybe the next time through I will utilise the guide and aim to pick up everything I missed.

Fantastic game though start to finish. I liken to a really great book that takes you forever to read. During the ending as the camera shows some of the characters I'd interacted with months ago and how the story ends for them was awesome. Made me realise just how much progession Link went through in this game; from a farm boy to the final victory at the end. Good stuff

I got back into it earlier in the week after a month long hiatus (stupid escort mission really turned me off of it for awhile). Now I'm in the water temple. This game is probably the best non arcade game I have ever played. I really like the game world. When I come to too much of an obstacle in the dungeons, I teleport out and just wander the countryside for awhile. I've never spent so much time in a game just walking around.

Wow, these last few posts are really getting me excited for this. I have the game just sitting there almost untouched! It's hard to find game time these days though, with two kids, plus the Wii has been getting most of my attention lately (and I got the CUBE version of Twilight Princess as a birthday gift FOUR DAYS BEFORE I got my Wii)!

I've been playing the cube version on the Wii all week. I feel kind of bad about it, but basically my Gamecube has become unnecessary.

So I beat the water temple. That boss was awesome, easily my second favorite boss fight ever (still not beating out Sevenforce). I've also completed the next two non dungeon quest sections. I played from 10:30 last night until 4:00 this morning. I'd have given up a lot earlier, but my fiancee was playing "The Sims" the whole time, so there was no one to talk me out of it. I think I'm ready to declare this my favorite game of all time, even over Galaga and Dig Dug.

Well I'm at 45 hours and I just finished up the Cave of Ordeals. I've found all the Poe Souls, all the insects, and I have all the heart pieces minus the two that are left in the Palace of Twilight (which is my next stop). I've found that the dungeons have gotten longer and my more annoying as the game goes on, but the boss fights are getting cooler. I should have the game beat by tomorrow.

I finally got some serious play time on this last night. Of course I have the GameCube version... but I'm playing it on the Wii! I can see where the Wii remote would have been used in various parts of the game, and it probably would've been fun, but I am enjoying it just fine with the GameCube controller!

It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out what to do in the village on the first "day" but eventually I did, and I got through the first "mini" dungeon-type area where I had to save the kid and the monkey. (I assume I'm not spoiling this for anyone... ;) )

Anyway... wow, this is a very cool game. I haven't really played the N64 Zelda games much (just dabbled a bit with OOT, which I have on the Collector's Disc for the Cube, but I'm not even as far in it as I am in TP now), but I played through Wind Waker all the way. I loved WW and the cel-shaded style, but playing this game now makes me realize how much WW didn't feel like a Zelda game. But roaming around the forest in TP felt like being completely immersed in the world of LTTP or Minish Cap (my first real Zelda experience). I love it!

I hope to have more time to play it tonight. I may have to log some more Smooth Moves or DK Country time with my 4-year-old son first though. (Not that I don't like those games too!)

I finished it up this weekend. The last boss battle was fun, but long. The ending was nice and all but sorta short (or maybe I'm just used to hour long FF endings).

Tempest
