+DarkLord
Ultima This reminds me, have you tried grabbing the d-bug version of ultima 6, installing it to floppies and then copying them to hdd? I think it should work out of the box. As a matter of fact I'll try it right now I've got the original, plays on both my Mega ST and my Falcon. I posted Ultima 6, including maps, manuals and box art to Atari Legend a while back. IIRC, its in MSA format (I tried Pasti but kept getting errors)... Hmm, I believe I did here as well... Gunstar
O.K. here are my favorites, improved if using a 16Mhz Mega/STE or Falcon where noted; these are original games made for STE/Falcon or that are compatible, no D-bug 16mhz noted here though those are great too. Substation (STe/MegaSTe/Falcon only; best at 16Mhz) Zero-5 (STe/MegaSTe/Falcon only; best at 16Mhz) F1 GP/Vroom! (2 different publishers, same game, different version exist of F1. (ST/STE, Falcon?; works fantastic on my Mega STe at 16Mhz) No Second Prize (NSP) (ST/STE, Falcon?; even better at 16Mhz) Chaos Engine (ST/STE; works at 16Mhz and is faster, but there is some graphic glitches on the statistics display, not in game) Epic (ST/STE; Wing Commander BEFORE Wing Commander) Elite&Frontier: Elite 2 (ST/STE Falcon?; much better at 16Mhz) Damocles (ST/STE D-bug has a Falcon/Mega STe 16Mhz version) Reach for the Skies (ST/STE WWII areo combat) Stunt Car Racer (ST/STE) Resolution 101 (ST/STE full 3D polygon world similair to Iron Soldier on the Jaguar) Crazy Cars III (ST/STE Need for Speed for the 80's) Lotus 1,2&3 (ST/STE just bad-ass touring car racer) Ishar 1,2&3 (ST/STE/Falcon 3D RPG) Trex Warrior (ST/STE 3D polygon battles) ArmourGeddon (ST/STE bad-ass 3D polygonal wars with multiple vehicles; works great at 16Mhz) Imminent Destruction (ST/STE like Wolfenstein 3D,Substation, Doom, etc., early 3D FPS, still very cool though, not quite as good as the STe/Falcon's Substation) Virus (ST/STE, 16Mhz Dbug crack is available) GODS:Into the wonderful (ST/STE platformer) Cannon Fodder 1&2 (ST/STE) Wings of Death&Lethal Xcess: WOD2 (ST/STE) Infestation (ST/STE 3D adventure game, FPS) InterPhase (ST/STE polygon shooter) Obsession (STe/Falcon only; pinball) StarDust (STE/Falcon only; cool space shooter game in 3D) many, many more too, but as you can see, I like 3D/Psuedo 3D, even on the old-school machines, and I like the one that can be run or have hacked versions for 16Mhz becuase speed is all important with 3D. Goochman
btw. you can link up Stunt Car Racer & Lotus 2+3 with Amigas and play multiplayer.... Add Falcon 1.0 to these. Nice catch - Falcon was very fun - Did Populous make anyones list here? Power Monger? I played Falcon via the modem with a friend - it worked pretty well as we had a few dogfights I also played Artic Fox quite a bit - though by todays standards it is prob a bit slow. "wwwwiiiings of deeaaath.... hahahahahaha".... still wanted to code it on my a800 such a intro with the water dropps... i even started to paint them in graph painter... the intro msx is a classic as well but the SID version is a killer esp in the second part of the tune which seems missing in the original jochen hippel version...
