It is good, but the movie selection isn't great. Not many newer releases. TV show selection is excellent though.

I haven't signed up for Netflix yet. I'd like to due to their new season of Arrested Development; however, I have access to so much other content (for free!) that I can't convince myself to sign up for it at this time.

 

I do use Amazon Prime, but I consider it "free content" as I buy enough from them that the free shipping negates the annual membership fee. I've never watched Amazon Prime on my computer, only via my PS3 and iPad, so I don't know how good/bad their player on the Mac is.

I saw a few movies listed that I haven't seen and semi-wanted to see, but yeah, the movies available for streaming mostly suck or they are ones most people have already seen 10 times. (Same as it was 4 or 5 years ago.)

If that worked with my Blu-ray player, it might be worth it. Doesn't seem to work with LG BD640:

I have Netflix,mainly for my kids,the choice for kids is fantastic.

They watch it every day on the Roku.

4 or 5 years ago it was $7.99 for streaming and 1 DVD at a time in the mail.

 

now it's $7.99 for streaming only or $7.99 for 1 DVD at a time only.

Did you read my blog entry or did you start typing after reading the title? The player in the browser on my PC seems to be a lot more professional and user-friendly than it used to be. It has improved. But I don't have to use it after discovering that my Blu-ray player can connect to the Internet and stream Netflix content.

 

I don't use DVDs anymore. They look like crap on my HDTVs. I either use Blu-ray or streaming HD. If Netflix had a large selection of Blu-ray titles and you could count on them arriving in the mail without being scratched up or broken, it might be worth another 8 bucks.

 

Netflix has enough new and old TV shows that I haven't seen to keep me entertained for years. Now that I can watch Netflix on my HDTV instead of my PC, it's worth the 8 bucks just for streaming.
