Dreamcast game thoughts - part 8

Well, I only have 2 games to do for this time around. I never did get a chance to delve into the South Park game, so it will have to wait until next time. First Re-Volt. I actually got this game to work after a buffering from a different game store. Re-Volt is a remote control car racing game. I remember back when Mario Kart 64 first came out, the people who made it wanted it to feel like an RC car racing game. Re-Volt isn't as fun as Mario Kart 64, and for this reason: Turning. It sucks. Sometimes when I turn ever so slightly, the car goes out of control and starts heading backwards. Or I want it to turn a lot and it turns ever so slightly. I wish the turning on this game would make up its mind. I did manage to win a track after four attempts (the Supermarket one on easy. I came in third on my first attempt while trying to figure out the controls.) But there are hazards in these courses, like dead ends. There is only one dead end in Mario Kart history spanning 7 games. Oh well.

Second: Namco Museum. I have a whole bunch of Namco Museum games on different consoles. This offers 6 games. Yes, only six. No more. Dig Dug is hard when you have a weird Dreamcast controller. But the good thing is both the games (Namco Museum and Re-Volt) save high scores and stuff automatically. Re-Volt uses >20 spots, though, which kind of eat up the available memory spots (I have a little over 100 left. I have a second VMU, but I need to change its battery so it doesn't sound like a smoke detector when I turn it on.) OK, so I lied. Namco Museum offers 7 games, the seventh you download to your VMU and play it on it. It's called Pac-It and it's a lot like Fast Food for the Atari 2600.
