Film editing is hard

In yesterday's blog, I explained about seeing a typo in a movie catalog saying a movie was only one minute long. And how that inspired me to try to make a minute-long movie called "The Invisible Thing From Neptune." Well, filming is the easy part. Editing it is hard. Especially when your software refuses to cooperate with you. It didn't like a scene I filmed (7 seconds), even though it opened up in every other program. So I had to refilm it. Fortunately it was an easy scene, just a shot of a radio for seven seconds, with a radio report dubbed in. So the movie so far is 28 seconds long. I have yet to film the film's final scene. What I plan to do is make a drawing of a monster on paper, then insert it in my movie. This monster, when sprayed with vinegar, becomes visible and disintegrates. And that is how the invisible thing from Neptune meets its demise. So I think I can make it 60 seconds long, that is, if my stupid video editing software will let me. I finally figured out how to add stuff. I have to import it into the program. Dumb! Why not just let me click and drag files from my computer into the program? That would have been a whole lot more user-friendly. Then, there's all these files in the program in a folder in the program. And the program's folder is only available in the program. Instead of using real people in a scene though, I just used Barbie and Ken dolls. I don't know how they got in the house, but they're useful for filming things. They are all naked. Where did their clothes go? I had to film their faces only. So that's what I've been busy with these last couple days.
