PS1 madness

So I got a new PS1 game. I put the disc in. It did not want to work. It went to the system menu a few times. Then I tried again. I got this strange screen that said something like "Please Insert PlayStation boot disc." I turned it off. I turned it back on and after a fifth or so try it finally decided to work. I got a game called Jigsaw Madness. The settings are good. The same song keeps playing over and over again though. Which gets to you. And it likes to keep spitting the same piece for you to try to fit in when you have no idea where it goes. There's only 7 to pick from and they keep rotating when you decide not to use it. I finished a 150-piece puzzle with no outlines in just under an hour, but only with a 44% success rate. I think this is due to the problem of piece selection. If it was better, I probably would be more successful, instead of trying to put the piece in places it doesn't go in an attempt to give you new pieces. Anyway, if you have an hour to spare, it's good. Too bad there's no like 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle where you can save your progress with the memory card. That would be really cool. It's kind of like the CD-i game "Jigsaw Puzzle", from the brief time I had a CD-i before it broke. But I don't know what the PS1's problem is. I tried putting in a different game when I was having trouble and it was OK.
