Play PlayStation Station

So I got out my Playstation games from the garage. Not what I had originally intended to do. I went to the garage to see if I could find my Colecovision and games. It was dark, so I had to hold a flashlight while sifting through boxes. I found the Colecovision but I couldn't find the AC adapter and I couldn't find the games. I did however, find all my PSOne games along with a gray brick PSX. I already had my PSOne sitting in my room with a few games. So now I have more.

So I played a few rounds of Crash Team Racing. It's like the PSX's Mario Kart 64 equivalent. I like that you don't have to do the dumb adventure mode and can just race whenever you feel like it. And it has a varied amount of tracks as well. I think the amount is equal to MK64. Except that you can play any track anytime. Like if you wanted to play Bowser's Castle in Mario Kart 64, you have to sift through the first three tracks of the Star Cup. But then the tradeoff is it doesn't keep track of who won what race and therefore won't award points unless you do the Cup mode.

But I'm rambling again. The point I want to make is I need more PSX games. I looked at some on eBay and wow have the prices gone up! Even the shovelware titles are $5 or up. Most shovelware is $10 or up. What happened here? I wish the PS1 was more homebrew friendly. I tried to make a PS1 game called Jack and the Beanstalk, but I gave up because A.) I couldn't get sound working and B.) I couldn't play it on a real PSX. I wonder if anyone here can mod my old gray PSX to make it play homebrew stuff.
