10 years of Jaguar fun
So I was looking through my blog posts trying to find out when I got my Atari Jaguar. The earliest I wrote about it was in 2008 when I was thinking about possibly selling it. Well, it's 10 years later and I still have it, so I didn't sell it. And I'm not going to, especially after seeing how high Jaguar game prices are on eBay. Power Drive Rally $150? I have that game and I doubt I paid that much for it. My upper limit for one game is about $100. Most of which those games are Pokemon Mini Japanese rare games.
Another reason I am not going to sell my Jaguar anytime soon is because I'm making a game for it. I worked a little bit more on Aaron the Aardvark, trying to improve collision detection. I got my Jaguar out and games, and turned it on. It still works great and the picture couldn't be better. No snow or anything. On a CRT-TV. That and I paid a lot of money for my copy of Rebooteroids. So if I was going to sell the games individually, I'd probably expect at least $1,000 for it. I have 45 games or so, including a cart only Rayman which I got for $50. Wild. So that'd mean I'd sell all my games for $22 each to get $1000, and that doesn't include the console. But it's a moot point because I'm not selling it.
So I've had my Jaguar for at least 10 years now. It was fun collecting for it, but now all I can collect are homebrew games for it. Like I'm going to spend $110 for Towers 2, and even more for Atari Karts.
