"You know when you lament about Chex Mix and how they put those evil icky pretzels in it which prevents you from getting it at the grocery store? Well, imagine big huge pretzels. As big as the rocket you're in, trying to find a place in the universe that has Chex Mix without pretzels in it. And they make you so angry because you hate pretzels because they taste like cardboard. So these big huge pretzels have forced you into this green forcefield and they won't stop attacking you. So you begin shooting the pretzels."

I decided to make a port of my Game Boy game Midspace for the Atari 2600. What's more is that I wanted to do it in assembly. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. I only got four hours of sleep last night, so I'm almost guaranteed to have some more sleep tonight since I'm at a good stopping point for the game where everything works okay.

While testing the game in the Harmony Cart I discovered a trick to get the best picture. I don't know how this works, but if you keep changing the channels from 3 to 4 and back and forth, usually if you do it a couple of times, it will give you a flawless picture. Right now I am rocking out to the title screen music for BMX Air Master. Some things I want to change in 2600 Midspace are the title screen music (which shouldn't affect my stable 262 scanline count.) as well as suggestions from the "audience" (all 0 of you.)

I just get so angry about that. Here I am working on a game and I have trouble, and I have to spend an extra 5 hours programming trying to get it correct because nobody else seems to care. I woke up at 3:30 this morning and decided I wasn't going to get out of my chair until I have this working. So I did. I celebrated taco goodness today on Taco Wednesday. There is not a bad day of the week to eat tacos. Which has become a meme of sorts on AtariAge for a reason I don't know.
