C is for Cashew
So I got to thinking about Midspace for the Atari 2600 and what else I might want to add to it. Enemies that shoot are out since that would take way too much space. So what could an enemy do new besides shoot? Move in a different direction. I thought to myself "If this takes up too much space I'll ditch it." But after drawing a diagonally moving enemy, the scanline still stayed steady at 262.
But what could I put in the game? What would the diagonally moving enemy be? I got to thinking about the bag of trail mix in the kitchen cupboard. I certainly didn't want a regular common peanut, even though it would have been easy to draw. It had to be orange though. Then it came to me: Cashews! They're orange-y and easy to draw. So I put a diagonal moving cashew in the game. To spice things up.
I have about 300 bytes left until I would move it to 4k, but I'm trying to see how much I can fit in 2k. Because 2k games are cool.
